SEARCH (Society for Education, Action and Research in Community Health) is a non-government organization registered as a public trust and charitable society in India. It was founded in 1985 Dr. Abhay Bang and Dr. Rani Bang. Their dream was to develop an institution of Community Health which provides health care to the local population, and generates knowledge for the global community by way of research. The mission of SEARCH includes community health care, research and training. It is located at Gadchiroli which is one of the most neglected district in Maharashtra state serving Tribal and Nontribal population in this area. Spine ailments of the residents of this region have never been addressed before.

Spine Foundation has been associated with SEARCH foundation since 2006 to serve the rural & tribal population of Gadchiroli by conducting clinics as well as Spine surgeries free of cost every 3 months. Dedicated team of Spine surgeons along with Anaesthetists are involved in modern spine care at no / bare minimal cost to the patients of this region. Spine foundation is also involved in various research projects conducted at SEARCH.
